9/18/2023 0 Comments Season 5 of outlander episodes![]() ![]() ![]() The first episode – named 'The Fiery Cross' after the book on which this season is based – is a joyous opening to the season that focuses on relationships as well as possible dramas to come, and it harks back to some of the best episodes from previous seasons of Outlander – the ones that celebrated Scottish culture and history and focused on the core ensemble cast, such as season one's 'The Gathering' and 'Rent' and season three's 'First Wife'. ![]() Yes, the gang is all here (with the exception of poor Young Ian, who is living with the Mohawk in Roger's place, and producers won't reveal when or if he will be back). Not just Jamie and Claire, and Roger and Bree, but also Jamie's headstrong stepdaughter Marsali (Lauren Lyle) and her husband Fergus (Cesar Domboy), fugitive Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix), Jamie's tough aunt Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy), dashing Lord John Grey (David Berry) and loveable outdoorsman John Quincy Myers (Kyle Rees). More importantly, all the characters that have become fan favourites get screen time (and hints of juicy upcoming storylines) too. What's the betting that there will be a gory operation or two in that room before season's end? In the time that has passed since the end of the previous season, Jamie has set about building a bigger homestead at Fraser's Ridge and we see it with incomplete interiors and unfinished walls – and get a first glimpse at the doctor's surgery he has built for Claire. It has all the gorgeous detail you'd expect from a series that has always excelled at stunning costumes and elaborate sets. Related: Outlander season 5 teases a wedding in first-look photos ![]()
